Contact: Greg Murphy

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Cleveland State fencing teams competed at the Northwestern Duals on Saturday (Feb. 2) with the men's team going 2-6 and the women's squad tallying a 2-7 mark.

Liran Gross recorded an 18-6 record on the day and improved to 60-13 this season for the men.

"We are pushing forward and doing well against some great competition," head coach Jim Sager said. "We are competing against higher quality teams this season, but that is giving individuals a chance to qualify for nationals. We are going to keep working hard and get back at it next weekend."

The Vikings will be back in action on Feb. 9-10 when they compete at the Notre Dame Duals in South Bend, Ind.
