Shawnita Garland is one of the quickest guards in the entire Horizon League and has the ability to change the pace of the game on both ends of the floor. She is explosive with the basketball and can make plays for herself and teammates. She matured as her freshman season progressed and should factor even more significantly into the rotation this season.
2007-08 - Freshman Season
Played in 32 games, coming off the bench in each game as the second guard.
Averaged 3.6 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in 13.6 minutes per contest.
Scored six points and had three steals in league semifinal win at Green Bay (3/14), playing 19 minutes.
Finished with nine points and three boards in win at Valparaiso (2/2).
Hit both shots from the field, including a three-pointer, and went 3-of-4 from the free throw line to score eight points versus Detroit (1/17).
Recorded career highs in points (19), rebounds (8), assists (5) and steals (5) in win over Bradley in consolation game of Great Alaska Shootout (11/21).
Was 4-of-8 from the field for nine points in 23 minutes against Akron (11/17).
Scored 12 points with five rebounds against Wisconsin (11/9)in season opener.

Led team to 21-2 record and a conference championship as the starting point guard as a senior
